The Arthur Awards began as a tongue-in-cheek affair in 1995, but have grown over three decades to become the Oscars of the international live music business. The ceremony takes place annually in March, with winners decided by a combination of public voting and a closed jury which considers each nominee.
All but one edition of The Arthurs have taken place in person, with most editions forming the highlight of a five-star Gala Dinner during ILMC. In 2021, during the Covid-19 pandemic, The Arthurs took place in the Royal Albert Hall in London, livestreamed to thousands of professionals around the world.
The Arthurs were hosted by veteran booking agent Carl Leighton-Pope for many years, but since 2014, have been compered by CAA’s Emma Banks. Around 400 of the world’s top live music professionals attend the ceremony annually.
