Delegates’ List Online Plus a Very Special Guest

IPM 15’s agenda, which includes an additional full day of E3S content, is so big that we have taken over three conference rooms this year. In fact, there is so much content that all the main panels will be recorded and made available for delegates to watch on-demand for a month after the event has finished.

Speaking of delegates, a list of everyone who has already registered for IPM is now live, so if you want to check which of your industry colleagues will be at IPM, take a look here. We will be updating the list regularly until the event has taken place. Want your name to appear on the list? – Click here to register.

In other news, we have some excellent Production Notes planned, a very special guest for the lunchtime Q&A, and more confirmed speakers. Read on…

LUNCHTIME Q&A

For those who have been under a welfare rock for the last 40 or so years and somehow missed her, here is a brief introduction to our lunchtime Q&A special guest, Penny Mellor

Penny was involved in the very first Stonehenge Festival in 1974, and shortly after she became a field worker for a recently founded charity, Festival Welfare Services, which she ended up running until 1996. From the late seventies onwards, Penny has arranged welfare services, written welfare reports, and consulted for many events both in the UK and abroad. More recently, she has worked as an environmental assessor for A Greener Festival. And she has documented it all! She has created a welfare at live events archive that would take three splitter vans to move!

Luckily, Carl A H Martin has persuaded Penny to join him for IPM’s Lunchtime Q&A, in which Penny will discuss her lifetime of experience on the frontline at festivals.

PRODUCTION NOTES

Sticking with successful initiatives, for our first Production Note of the day, The PSA Presents… Chairman of the PSA Dave Keighley will be outlining what the Production Services Association (PSA) has achieved and how such a trade organisation can support the sector. Did you know the PSA was created after the need for such an organisation was discussed at an ILMC in the early ‘90s? A group of forward-thinking individuals decided that the industry had issues that were best addressed by one voice speaking for the whole industry.  #funfact

And now, here’s Dax Cochran with the weather: Our second Production Note,  will see Dax Cochran DTN (USA) take a long hard look at the weather and how we can forecast it for events. The Weather Maturity Curve will see him present ways we can plan, prepare and mitigate risks for weather changes whilst maximising productivity not just during an event but also in the pre-production, build and break phases.

And finally, Fight or Flight Case: A mental health update will see TM Andy “Franksy” Franks acknowledge six years of Music Support, the association providing support for music industry crew suffering with mental ill-health and/or addiction issues. Franksy will be updating us on the association’s efforts and the current state of mental health services behind the scenes.
